Welcome to CNR 7195

The story of restoring a Canadian National Railway
heavy weight railway car.

Welcome to CNR 7195

This website documents the restoration of CNR 7195 “Combine” located at the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario (RMEO) in Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada.

Originally built in 1919 as a colonist sleeper car, it was retrofitted by CNR in 1956 as a baggage/passenger car, or “Combine” as it is more commonly known.

By using the navigation bar (menu) at the top of the page, one can explore the following areas.

Blog
The blog is a chronological documentation of the restoration of the car. The blog is usually written written once a minor milestone has been reached, typically after several days of work. There is one page per year, and there is a short section for each minor milestone. If more details are required to explain some work, there is a link to a full report. Typically the full reports can be found under a sub heading of Interior, Exterior, or Projects.

Introduction
This provides an introduction to CNR 7195 and the overall restoration project. If you are new to the site, exploring the sub headings is a good place to start to get familiar with the project. View the Introduction Page for more details.

Exterior

Latest as of March 2022.

March 2022

Initial release of the new website. The website is still a work in progress as I migrate it from my personal website. So far almost all material is still missing. However most of the Introduction sections are complete and make for a good reading. They provide a background on the car and the project.
